500 guests of Canada's largest museum designed ancient Mesopotamian city blocks using a fleet of iPads, and watched as their creations were 3D printed in front of their eyes. Each day, a new re-envisioned crowdsourced city came to life.
MakeLab was commissioned to create an interactive installation for Absolut Vodka's #MakerFest campaign. 3D printed connectors turn 450 bottles into building blocks for the public. The installation's 2000 high-powered LEDs are also twitter-controlled, allowing anyone to change the installation's colour from their smartphone.
MakeLab partnered with Toronto firms Partisans Projects and Norm Li Architectural Graphics + Illustrations to create an imagined streetscape of a future Toronto, presented in a 3D visual installation at the NXNE 2014 Art Hub.
MakeLab regularly runs large, interactive 3D printing and design events at public and private functions.
